Enter through Bonne Fete on the Courthouse Square downtown
The exhibit will be up March 1 through March 28, 2024
This exhibit contains photographs with a variety of styles and subjects, and a soundscape created from a variety of found sounds.
For The Alchemy Series, I take photos of everyday subjects and using basic editing tools, manipulate them to create entirely new images. Through this alchemical journey, the everyday photograph is used as basic material to create “the other”, a subject not found in our normal reality. The image emerges from the old into the new like a sculpture emerging from a block of stone, revealing the inner imagination of the sculptor.
For the Magic in the Mundane series, I reframe the ordinary. My goal is to capture the mystery of the moment as it appears to me in that instant. These photographs have not been manipulated.
Other photographs have various amounts of manipulation, enhancing a moment or object.

The Soundscape contains sounds such as crickets, raking leaves, shoveling stones, hot summer night, playing basketball, and cooking oatmeal, among others. The soundscape creates an environment to view the photos but is not directly associated with them. It is an added dimension of experience. Many of these sounds were originally recorded for the Found Sound segment on the WFIU radio program Inner States.
